Every day a child goes to grade school in Cambodia, they are expected to pay a little money to their teachers and buy their own lunch or breakfast from the school street vendors.

For children from desperately poor families or with parents with addiction and gambling problems, finding that little bit of money regularly can be a huge challenge. Children might get a few days a month at school, and discouraged, drop out to start begging or working on the streets. 

Riverkids negotiates a group payment for the children and provides pocket money and snacks for them as well. We work with the schools to get children enrolled, provide school uniforms, books and supplies and extra tuition under our other school programs.
