Teenagers are at the highest risk for trafficking. Riverkids’ intensive three and nine-month training programs, Get Ready, is an alternative for teenagers with few choices.

Our short three-month Get Ready program is for younger teenagers who need help getting the confidence and educational skills to return to school with support from Riverkids and their families. Our longer program is for older teens who are unable to return to school and need help for vocational training and apprenticeships. We work with them on literacy, social and work skills, building up their peer support and helps them focus on the future. 

Small classes and creative workshop-style lessons on life and work skills and deeply involved teachers and counselors help these kids get the confidence and basic skills they need for independent lives.

After graduation, students are sponsored for further school, training or apprenticeships with weekly meetings, individual scholarships and further support.

We've seen more than fifty girls and eight boys graduate from our Get Ready programs, with 85% going on to school and safe jobs. We're still working with those who've struggled since, thanks to the friendships and trust they found during the program.

Every donation gift includes a letter explains Riverkids and the impact of the program, and a thank-you photograph of our kids! You can have the letter emailed as a PDF or we can print it and mail it from Singapore. We'll email you after your order to check who you'd like the donation for.
