The Riverkids Shop has a very simple philosophy: buy good things from good people, and sell them at a fair mark-up to help another good cause.
Everything in our shop was sourced individually in Cambodia. We support a range of fair-trade workshops, charities and small family businesses that we’ve personally checked help their community. A few are even made by the families and students from Riverkids!
Costs are minimal – postage, packaging (we use Cambodian traditional fabric to pack) and lots of volunteer help – means that all profits can go back into Riverkids’ programs.
In 2008, we raised over US$17,000 in shop sales which helped run our programs for more than 200 children at high risk for trafficking in the slums of Phnom Penh. You can read more about us at our website and follow our latest work at our blog.
