Comic Books Cambodia-Style

Pages from Cambodian comic books are backed with brightly coloured banana-tree paper to make quirky cards, just right for teenagers, comic book lovers and eccentrics!

Cambodians read voraciously. Literacy levels have risen steadily, and from traveling book peddlers in rural areas to the market bookstalls in the cities, there is a huge thirst for stories. Local magazines run serial novels, and cheap comic book novels, like Japanese manga, are popular with young people. The stories are often romances or historicals, and the artwork is simple, while the plotting is elaborate.

Handmade paper, with co-ordinating envelopes, as a set of three.
