The archetype of a tree is carved here in relief. The pendant is smooth gleaming brass, recycled from bombshell casings as a powerful statement for peace.

For a long time, Phnom Penh had very few trees. The boulevards had once been planted with shade trees, but during the civil war and the decades of hunger afterwards, people had felled them for firewood.

Over the last decade, saplings have been planted and slowly, the boulevards of Phnom Penh are returning, with flowering trees and the occasional fruit tree even appearing, a visible sign of peace and hope.
